AdBlue fault on Ropa Tiger 5/Ropa Panther 1: Mercedes OM471 & OM473 engine

The two technological beasts that are the Tiger 5 and Panther 1 are exceptional working machines. However, when the AdBlue system decides to shut down and restrict all operating power, it's no longer possible to work. We'd like to introduce you to our Adblue solutions to counter these problems, especially for customers operating in foreign countries where Adblue is not available. In this case, the system has to be completely removed.

    Which Mercedes engines are fitted?

Two engines can be fitted to the Tiger 5 and Panther. The OM473LA, the famous 6-cylinder in-line engine producing 626hp and complying with Tier 4F standards, and the OM 471LA engine producing 530hp. The 130L of Adblue are essential to the machine's operation.

    Models supported by our solution

    • Mercedes OM471 LA - 530CV - 6 Cyl - Tier 4F
    • Mercedes OM473 LA - 626CV - 6 Cyl - Tier 4F

Typical problems encountered on these machines

    • Total or intermittent power loss
    • Lack of torque
    • Engine fault and Adblue on dashboard
    • Impossible to work with equipment due to lack of engine power

Main features and functions of the emulation module

    • Inhibition of Nox Sensors / Nox Sensors
    • Adblue dosage inhibition (AdBlue pump)
    • Inhibition of AdBlue level in tank
    • Complete software overhaul, sending new data to the vehicle's CAN-Bus network using the original harness.
    • Continental ACM 2.1 operation taken over by our own hardware

    AdBlue level virtualization

AdBlue level virtualization simulates a level always at 3/4.

Installation of AdBlue data emulator - CAN bus network communication

Installing the box on this vehicle takes a few hours (around 4 hours). We need to retrieve the CAN data bus located at the front of the cab, and connect it to the emulator that will be installed in the trunk area near the engine block. Here are a few photos taken during the installation of a box on a Tiger

Automatic shut-off of engine and AdBlue warning lights

As you can see, there were no apparent faults after the intervention, the vehicle regained full power and the DME error codes were automatically erased. If they don't clear automatically, we have the diagnostic tool from the Mercedes dealership to clear them manually. The vehicle is now back to full power and can be driven around the fields without any problems.

To carry out the operation, we intervene directly on site. If you feel you have the necessary knowledge, we can send you the emulator. The wires are numbered, so assembly can be carried out correctly with good logic and method.
