Removal Problem Volvo FMX 450 Euro 6 Engine D11K from 2017

Volvo FMX 450 Euro 6 AdBlue system troubleshooting

Virtualization of the AdBlue system on this 450hp Volvo Euro 6 truck. System faulty and truck in downgraded mode at 20kmh. Impossible to drive and work with the vehicle. Our solution for troubleshooting the AdBlue system enabled our customer to work with his vehicle again, eliminating the need to drive at 20kmh.

ACM Continental and Adblue Volvo FMX 450

Equipped with the 450hp D11K engine, managed by a TRW engine ECU coupled to the Continental exhaust gas management ECU developed for Volvo and Renault in Euro 6 versions, we implemented our specific box molded with the vehicle's original connector to counter Volvo FMX 450 Adblue faults. Replacing the ACM requires going under the truck, the easiest being to put it on a pit and gain access to the Adblue management box.

Data virtualization enables simulation of the various SCR emission management parameters. Adblue consumption is reduced identically to the original, and when a certain threshold is reached, it returns to the parameters pre-set in your new ACM. We deliver the ACM in less than 48 hours for the most urgent cases, by Chronopost. The D11K450 is a 10.8-liter in-line six-cylinder diesel engine with overhead camshaft, four valves per cylinder and common-rail fuel injection. It develops 450 hp. It complies with Euro 6 exhaust emission standards.

The D11K is a low-emission engine, both in terms of exhaust gases and noise levels. Euro 6 regulations specify that nitrogen oxide (NOX) emissions must be reduced by 80% and particulate emissions by 50% compared with the Euro 5 standard. To meet these legislative requirements, Volvo Trucks has developed an after-treatment system that combines, in the silencer, a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), a diesel particulate filter (DPF), a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system and an ammonia synthesis catalyst (ASC). The Euro 6 engine is inspired by the Euro 5 engine, renowned for its reliability. It features an uncooled EGR system which, combined with diesel injection into the exhaust system, enables cold-cycle exhaust temperatures to be raised when required. When the vehicle is to be exported to countries where Adblue is not available and where anti-pollution standards differ from those in Europe, it is possible and necessary to remove the Adblue and DPF to avoid breakdowns.
