The AdBlue-Services story - Summary for the curious
🔧 The meeting: two buddies, two passions
In 2009, AdBlue-Services wasn't yet called that. Back then, it was Maptronic, a small company founded in France by Florian and myself. Flo and I have known each other since 2002, when we were in the BEP Mécanique Auto class together in high school.
After graduating, Flo - who has always been passionate about cars - joined Porsche. As for me, I'm off in a different direction, but one that's no less exciting: IT, which has been my thing since I was a kid. In 2009, our paths crossed again, and our entrepreneurial adventure began.
🚗 The early days of Maptronic: chiptuning at its best
At the very beginning, for two years, we only worked on cars. Maptronic's aim was to offer chiptuning services - that is, to improve engine performance by increasing torque and power.
Although I'm comfortable with the programming side of things, we're supported by a specialist engineer, the founder of Digiservices, who provides us with all the engine mapping. He's the one who produces the files, and the collaboration goes off without a hitch.
🛑 The end of Maptronic: a necessary pause
After two years, a number of personal problems prompted us to close the company. Not because it wasn't working - on the contrary - but because sometimes you have to make choices in life.
💻 Back to computers... without letting go of the engines
In 2011, I moved to Bordeaux and took up a job in IT. But there's no getting around it: I continue to hang out at car rallies at weekends. Word of mouth soon began to spread: people found out that I worked in reprogramming, and asked me to do a few engine optimizations here and there.
Demand became regular. I decided to set up a micro-business, initially for my Saturday and Sundayactivities... then very quickly also in the evenings after work.
🚐 2012-2015: itinerant reprogrammer
At the end of 2012, it was time to make a choice: the business was growing too big to be run in parallel. So I gave up my salaried job and devoted myself full-time to the microenterprise.
At the time, I had no fixed premises. Word of mouth spread like wildfire to neighboring departments: Dordogne (24), Landes (40), Lot-et-Garonne (47), Pyrénées-Atlantiques (64). I'm out on the road every day reprogramming vehicles, and it's been going on for three and a half years.
🔁 2015: back to Normandy, a new start
After a romantic break-up, I decided to leave Bordeaux and move back to Normandy. A new start, new energy. While waiting to find premises, I worked in my friends Magda and Aziz's garage in Rouen for almost a year.
As before, demand is exploding. Word-of-mouth is going well, and what's more, I've set up a website that's starting to stand out in searches for engine reprogramming. Problem: not enough space, too many cars to manage. At the end of 2016, I started looking for business premises, and eventually found them in Bourg-Achard.
💥 The arrival of AdBlue-Services
It was at the end of 2016 that everything changed. My brother joined me in the adventure. He too comes from the IT world, and becomes a micro-entrepreneur to help me with the programming. Together, we work in the Digiservices Normandie garage in Bourg-Achard.
We've got everything you need: an auto power bench, a descaling machine and a DPFS reconditioner. And that's when the customer's problems with emission control systems come to the fore: AdBlue out of order, clogged DPFS, temperamental EGR valves, endless diagnostics, and above all: outrageous bills from dealerships. It's clear that something has to be done.
🌍 A company dedicated to AdBlue
Still at the end of 2016, I decided to create a specialized site: www.adblue-services.comdedicated solely to anti-pollution systems. I share advice, customer feedback and useful information.
During my travels abroad - notably to the United Arab Emirates - I made some memorable encounters: a Pole and a Russian, with whom I'm still working today on solutions for eliminating anti-pollution devices, mainly for vehicles destined forexport (where standards differ from those in Europe).
To clearly separate the two activities, I set up a legal structure dedicated to AdBlue: AdBlue-Services, which became DK Engine Services, based in Dubai.
My brother continues to manage engine reprogramming in Bourg-Achard, while I travel all over France, with over 80,000 km/year on the clock, helping customers get rid of their AdBlue problems.
And for the record, here I'm called Mike, but in real life, it's another name again 😄

PROTOCOL DEVELOPERAurel is the man I've been working with since the creation of Maptronic in 2009. He develops programs and communication protocols for cars and trucks. He implements and tests new solutions without rest. He's a geek who also works at night in his basement.

DEVELOPERA relentless Russian developer, he has worked on the development of boxes for Volvo Penta in particular. He's also the one who cracked and found the RSA key pairs using over 200 graphics cards connected to racks over a period of 2 years. he's also a geek, like the rest.
Martin
DEVELOPERHe lives in Poland and develops programs for numerous machines and trucks. We work with him from time to time. We've also worked with him to design boxes for Euro 4 & 5 systems.
Oumaima
ITINERANT HELPWhen we can't intervene in sufficient time, we second Oumaima, who uses the appropriate equipment to connect to the vehicles so that we can take over remotely. She also works on Renault and Volvo Euro 5 vehicles within a 200km radius of Rouen.
