    Witness on the dashboard concerning gas emissions on this truck and reduction in torque and power. Our customer asked us to solve the problem, as he is selling his truck to send it abroad, where emission standards are different from those in Europe.

    Equipped with the OM501LA 11.9L engine, the 440 HP Mercedes Actros 1844 with V6 engine (Euro 5 emission standard) and Bluetec 5 Adblue management system delivers 2100Nm of torque, all coupled to an automatic gearbox. We began by interrogating the memory of this Actros' engine ECU to find out what faults were currently present.

    To clear the Adblue fault on Mercedes Bluetec 5, you need to retrieve complete information from the engine management system. To do this, we intervene directly at the heart of the Temic engine ECU (MR Module). There's no need to dismantle the ECU if you have Mercedes cables, as everything is done via the vehicle's OBD connector.

    We save the truck's complete configuration before retouching any data. Next comes the process of writing the information to the engine management unit.

    Once we've finished writing, we check again for faults in the engine management unit and the automatic gearbox management unit. When the SCR system is faulty on a Mercedes Bluetec 5, the automatic BVA function is unavailable, so you have to switch to sequential mode to move up and down the gears. (We always work with at least two PCs, one for the Mercedes diagnostic kit and another containing our other map extraction software).

    Once the operation is complete, we take the vehicle for a test drive to check that the truck is in good working order and ready for export. (below, the faults present on the dashboard when we arrived on this Actros 1844 BlueTec 5)
