AdBlue fault on Daf XF106 Euro 6 : MX13 engine
When an AdBlue fault occurs on a Daf XF106 Euro 6, an exhaust system fault message appears. When the fault is displayed on the dashboard, the truck enters a degraded mode, reducing torque and power. One way to avoid this restriction is to customize the exhaust treatment system. We explain below.
DAF/PACCAR MX11 MX13 engine and Adblue fault on Daf XF106
If you're travelling abroad or using your vehicle on closed, private land, you can opt for optimized system management, which completely eliminates the adblue system on DAF Euro 6 vehicles. DAFs from 2014 to 2017 feature an EAS3 exhaust aftertreatment system coupled with ETC3 engine management. In addition to removing the AdBlue system, we can also remove the FAP/DPF and EGR parts.
For the FAP part: We recommend removing the particulate filter cartridge from your DAF Euro 6 to prevent clogging.
In our case, the vehicle did not have a particulate filter fault, but at the customer's request we opted to delete the DPF regeneration data as well.

How does the operation work?
First we have to read the truck's original data, identify the engine management software version and read the program from the ETC3 ECU's flash memory. Once this data has been extracted, we edit it using our various engineering software programs, and deactivate the data required for optimum vehicle operation, without errors or warning lights on the dashboard. We do not interact directly with the heart of the AdBlue EAS3 management module.
Once the data has been written to the truck, we can see straight away that the faults have disappeared and there are no more warnings on the dashboard. The vehicle returns to normal power and torque.
In some cases, in addition to these limits, the vehicle could also be limited to 20km/h. Of course, the limit is lifted after our intervention.
