Problem on Ecolog 560G - Troubleshooting

An Adblue problem on Ecolog 560G can cause costly downtime and reduce the reliability of your equipment. Deleting the anti-pollution device, including Adblue, FAP and EGR, offers an effective solution to these problems. By modifying the data in the EMS2.4 ECU, we integrate new parameters adapted to the Volvo Penta D8J engine. This reprogramming ensures optimal operation without dependence on faulty emissions systems. This translates into significant savings in maintenance and Adblue purchase costs, while improving the overall durability of your machines.

Emission fault diagnostics on Ecolog 560G

    Precise Diagnostics - Volvo EMS2.4 - Code SPN 3216 / FMI 13

Accurate diagnostics are essential to detect engine system faults and avoid unnecessary repairs. On vehicles equipped with the EMS2.4 ECU, problems related to emissions processing are frequent.

Using the on-board display and our official VODIA Volvo tool, we have identified the following code:

    AFTERTREATMENT 1 INTAKE NOx [FMI 13] OUT OF CALIBRATIONSPN : 3216 / FMI : 13

AFTERTREATMENT 1 INTAKE NOx [FMI 13] OUT OF CALIBRATION
    SPN: 3216 / FMI: 13
    System concerned: EMS Volvo

This code corresponds to a fault on the NOx sensor located at the SCR system inlet. It indicates that the measured values are inconsistent or outside the expected ranges. Possible causes include:
    - End-of-life or faulty NOx sensor
    - Oxidized or damaged connector
    - Software problem or incorrect ECU update
    - EGR malfunction affecting gas reading

Trouble Shooting Ecolog 560G - Volvo Penta Engine

    Possible consequences:
    - Engine light on
    - Switch to downgraded mode
    - AdBlue consumption anomalies

✅ In a professional setting, it is possible to eliminate this type of fault via engine reprogramming
✅ This neutralizes the NOx sensor concerned, avoiding repeated breakdowns
✅ And improves overall vehicle reliability while reducing maintenance costs.

In this particular case, although several solutions were considered, the customer chose to have the system removed permanently to avoid recurring problems, limit downtime and guarantee stable long-term operation.

Engine reprogramming following AdBlue problem on Ecolog 560G

When an AdBlue problem occurs on an Ecolog 560G, we intervene directly on the Volvo EMS2.4 system and the ACM module.
The intervention begins with a complete diagnosis, with fault reading and in-depth analysis of internal parameters.

We then proceed to read the entire ECU, then extract the Flash file (.bin).
This file is saved, then analyzed to identify the areas to be modified.

On this basis, we carry out a number of targeted adjustments:
deletion of fault codes, AdBlue deactivation,DPF and sootemulation,
and permanent closure of the EGR valve.

This reprogramming of the EGR reduces intake and turbo clogging.
It also improves combustion temperature and engine reliability.
This avoids power loss and downgrading.

These modifications are specially designed for Volvo Penta D8J engines, which are used extensively on Ecolog machines.

Finally, the modified data is fed back into the ECU, with checksums recalculated.
Certain secondary modules can be deactivated to prevent recurring faults and guarantee stable operation.

What are the results after solving the AdBlue problem on Ecolog 560G?

Before reprogramming faults and emission indicators

    Removal of emissions-related faults
Engine reprogramming and removal of emissions-related faults restore stable operation without faults or restrictions. By eliminating AdBlue, DPF and EGR faults, recurrent breakdowns and unnecessary downtime are avoided.

    No more degraded mode
This operation also removes the torque and power limitations imposed by the ECU, thus avoiding degraded mode and preserving engine performance.

    Return to original performance
Original performance is restored, with more responsive acceleration and smoother engine behavior.

    Removed warning lights and alerts
Warning lights on the dashboard disappear, eliminating persistent error messages and making vehicle use much more serene.

    No need to replace parts
Last but not least, this solution eliminates the need to replace costly parts such as NOx sensors, AdBlue injectors or the DPFS, thus considerably reducing maintenance costs.

    A reliable, cost-effective solution
In the end, you gain in reliability, ease of use and tangible savings, while eliminating the causes of breakdown at source.

After reprogramming: No more faults, no more warning lights, no more error codes
