Reprogramming a Scania 650S Free exhaust system

Equipped with the DC16 118 engine, the Scania S650 develops 650hp and 3300Nm of torque. Optimization of this vehicle will enable it to run on free exhaust with no fault on the dashboard. Optimization of power and torque reduces fuel consumption, while the increase in power adds to driving pleasure. In fact, the DC16 118 engine delivers 720hp in Stage 1 and 740hp with an open exhaust system.

Emission control system can be deactivated during a meeting or when the road is closed

If you want to be able to drive or accelerate in free-exhaust mode without having faults on the dashboard after twenty minutes, you'll need to opt for an adblue and FAP deactivation solution. If you want to be able to drive or accelerate with open exhaust without having a fault on the dashboard after twenty minutes or so, you'll need to opt for a solution that deactivates the adblue and FAP systems (which can be activated on demand). It is therefore possible to deactivate the anti-pollution system to enjoy the sound of the V8 during parades or when driving outside Europe. The Scania S650's free-form exhaust system, consisting of around 12m of pipe, produces an exceptional sound (see video above). The FAP can also be emptied if you wish to drive outside Europe.

Technical inspection and Device removed

Deactivation of the anti-pollution system is only permitted outside Europe or for use on closed roads. Remember to reactivate your anti-pollution system if you are driving in Europe. Although undetectable at the roadworthiness test, it is forbidden to drive with such a device deactivated. There are no OBD faults that can be detected by the equipment at MIN.
