Intervention P207F9A on Volvo FH540 Euro 6 - Torque Restriction

Setting up an emergency call-out system

Troubleshooting the emergency adblue system on this vehicle does not involve removing the emissions management module, but eliminating the presence of the torque restriction fault in 4H. This error corresponds to Volvo code P207F9A. The work was carried out at our workshop near Rouen in Normandy.

Poor AdBlue quality on Volvo FH4 540

Equipped with the 540hp D13K engine, managed by a TRW engine ECU coupled to the Continental exhaust management ECU developed for Volvo and Renault in Euro 6 versions.
The restriction of torque and power, together with a maximum speed limited to 20kmh, would have rendered the truck's traction capacity totally zero! The FH540's 2600Nm of torque is reduced by over 50%. Clearing the fault allowed the driver to get back on the road, but unfortunately not all versions equipped with the retarder can be modified, and it is currently impossible to virtualize the system to stop using Adblue.
