Reprogramming Scania Streamline Euro 5/EEV V8

Details of Scania Euro 5 and EEV engines managed by the EMS S6/S7 engine management system. The EEV versions use XPI injection, while the Euro 5 versions use the PDE pump-injector system. In fact, only the V8 730 is in the EEV version and is not available in the Euro 5 version. Euro 5 versions include the V8 620, V8 560 and V8 500.

    500HP DC16 19/DC16 22

The R500 develops 2500Nm of torque managed by an EMS S6 motor module. The two EEV and E5 engines are identical. Engine management is slightly different to comply with emission standards. The R500s have good engine-optimization potential, and the driving experience is no different after reprogramming. Clutch and gearbox are also fitted on the 560 and 620, while injectors and turbo are different.

    560CV DC16 18

The R560 develops 2700Nm of torque managed by an EMS S6 engine ECU. The 560 is the counterpart to the R620, and includes virtually all injection and transmission components. Injectors, gearbox (GRSO905), K432 26 clutch, high-pressure pump and supercharger system are identical to those of the R620, resulting in an increase in power and significant gains. The 560 is especially limited in terms of engine electronics.

    620CV DC16 17

The R620 develops 3000Nm of torque managed by an EMS S6 management system. The engine components of the 620 are the same as those of the 560, so a reprogrammed 560 or 620 achieves the same end result. All that's involved is an electronic flange that limits the torque and power of the 560's engine compared to the 620. Engine reprogramming on the Scania R620 offers incomparable driving pleasure.

    730CV DC16 21

The 730 develops 3500Nm of torque. We're comparing it to the other V8s in the range, but it already has EMS S8 management and XPI injection, as opposed to PDE for the previous engines. It has no EGR valve. The gearbox, clutch, injectors, turbo and HP pump are different from the 3 previous models. The variable-geometry turbo makes its debut with the 730 EEV. Power gains are substantial.
