Why Stage 1+ on a Scania S650?

The Scania 650s have all the same engine components as the 580 phase 2 (without the EGR valve and variable-geometry turbo). The only change from the 580 is the gearbox. On the 580, the GRSO905R is fitted, while the GRSO925R is in place on the 650. For the record, this is the gearbox used on the 730, which can handle more torque.

Switching on the AdBlue system

The EEC3 (Electronic Engine Control) module on some Scania vehicle models can be configured to activate or deactivate on demand the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system, which is used to reduce pollutant emissions in diesel engines by injecting urea into the exhaust gases. Several options are available to activate your exhaust flaps, for example.
When the system is OFF, the exhaust flaps can be used without a fault being displayed on the dashboard. This system should only be used during rallies, on closed roads, circuits or in countries where the use of adblue is not mandatory.
