Problem Adblue Deutz TCD Tier 4F engine

Construction and agricultural vehicles equipped with Bosch EDC17 management modules

Problem Adblue engine Deutz - Problem AdBlue

Many Deutz engines are used in agricultural and construction machinery. Some of these engines may be subject to emission system failures. On this page, we'll find out what can be done about the AdBlue system on Deutz TCD engines complying with Tier 4F standards.

Problème Adblue moteur Deutz TCD - Which makes?

Deutz TCD Tier 4F engines can be found in a wide range of machines, including Artec sprayers, Deutz, Fendt, Lamborghini Tractors, Merlo, Still and Tecnoma farm machinery, as well as in public works and construction equipment such as Liebherr excavators, and many others not mentioned here - the list would be too long.

    Problem Deutz engine problem

We work on Tier 4F machines, mainly on the AdBlue system.

    • Removal of AdBlue SCR system - Pump can usually be disconnected
    • DPF / FAP particulate filter system removed (on certain machines only)
    • Increased power and torque available

Removal of defects and re-configuration of vehicle components

    • Creep mode deactivated, restriction of torque and power limits removed
    • No need for adblue
    • In most cases, the pump can be disconnected without any faults.

AdBlue action plan for Deutz engines: which engines are we working on?

    The main engines are

    • Engines meeting Tier 4 emission standards
    • Deutz TCD engines
    • Engines must be managed by a Bosch EDC17 engine ECU (mainly EDC17CV52, EDC17CV54 and EDC17CV56).
    • Deutz TCD 2.9 engine
    • Deutz TCD 3.4 engine
    • Deutz TCD 3.6 engine
    • Deutz TCD 4.1 engine
    • Deutz TCD 6.1 engine
    • Deutz TCD 7.8 engine
    • Deutz TCD 16.0 V8 engine
    • Deutz TCD 2012 -> Tier 4i engine with AdBlue

Our intervention for AdBlue problems in Deutz TCD engines

To modify the data on your machine fitted with a Deutz engine, we need to read the original Bosch ECU program (the engine management ECU which also manages the exhaust aftertreatment). We use our hardware to obtain a backup of your original ECU program. Once the information has been saved, we can edit the program to modify the data relating to the AdBlue system.

Almost all Deutz TCD engines can be read via the manufacturer's diagnostic socket, while in other cases it is necessary to dismantle the engine ECU to retrieve the data needed to bypass the various safety devices.

Please note that in some cases the torque and power limits are deactivated, so you can work again in complete safety. However, sometimes the warning triangle on the dashboard or some error messages don't go away! DON'T PANIC! The vehicle works just as before!

What should you do if you break down on a building site or in a critical situation?

Broken down in the middle of a field or on a building site? We can come to you directly. It's often necessary for us to have as much information as possible before our intervention. In particular, we need to have a photo of the engine and ECU labels, as well as any visible plates on the machine. This enables us to assess the possibility of working on your vehicle.

We will ask you for some information before we intervene, including the references of the engine ECU in question.

    • When the operation is carried out via the manufacturer's diagnostic socket, we can intervene externally.
    • If it is necessary to dismantle the vehicle's engine control unit, a shelter will be required for this purpose.
    • 220V power supply
    • If the weather is fine, we can work outdoors.
    • After our intervention, your Deutz motor vehicle will be repaired.
    • Once we've worked on the system and confirmed that we're coming, we're sure to be able to fix your vehicle.
    • On Deutz engines, we don't add any additional casing, so everything is transparent.
    • Under no circumstances can our programming be modified, UNLESS you go to your dealer and he flashes the engine ECU, i.e. replaces our modified software with a factory update.
    • You can read and delete faults that are not related to Adblue or the emission control system, but faults related to SCR will no longer be displayed.
    • If our programming is erased by mistake, you don't have to pay the full amount again. But 50%. This being the case, we strongly advise you to stipulate that you do not update the motor management unit, especially as some new versions may prevent us from reconfiguring certain functions following a factory version that is too recent.
