Repairing an adblue fault on a McCloskey crusher: This is a machine designed to reduce materials into small parts, such as gravel, sand or rock. The high-quality CAT C9.3 diesel engine can be used in various types of machine, including crushers. The Adem 6 ECU is an engine management system that controls and monitors engine operation. It can be used to optimize fuel consumption, engine power and performance, as well as the management of the exhaust after-treatment system and adblue.
The main causes of adblue faults
You may have a problem with your crusher's AdBlue system if you notice an AdBlue fault. AdBlue is a diesel additive used in some vehicles to reduce nitrogen dioxide (NOx) emissions. If the AdBlue system is not working properly, this can lead to reduced engine performance or even complete crusher stoppage.
There are several reasons why your crusher's AdBlue system may be malfunctioning. Here are a few things to check.
- AdBlue level: check that the AdBlue tank is full and that there are no leaks.
- AdBlue pumps: the AdBlue pump may be faulty and need replacing.
- AdBlue sensors: AdBlue sensors may be faulty and need to be checked and, if necessary, replaced.
- AdBlue filter: the AdBlue filter may be clogged and needs to be cleaned or replaced.
Data reprogramming and fault code checks using the official CATERPILLAR case
If active fault codes are detected on the motor, this can lead to reduced motor and crusher performance. This is because fault codes indicate that there is a problem somewhere in the motor or control system, and the motor may be limited in torque and power to protect against possible damage.
It is important to diagnose and remove active fault codes as soon as possible to ensure proper operation of the motor and crusher. We use our own communication tool for the latest ADEM 6 ECUs.
Our intervention consists of reprogramming the engine ECU's memory, thereby re-setting the engine operating and exhaust aftertreatment data. The SCR, DOC/FAP and EGR systems, where present, are also permanently deleted. We flash our own program, created by our engineering department. It's not a ready-made program, ready to inject into the machine - it's not that simple :).
