Delete adblue on Peugeot Citroen : BlueHdi engines

Main causes of AdBlue problems at PSA

At PSA, there's a recurring problem with the AdBlue system. This is the AdBlue fault, indicating that you can't start the engine, followed by a countdown timer. The problem is well known on BlueHdi engines, and the reason why the operation to solve the fault is expensive for the manufacturer is as follows.

The main problem is that the AdBlue gauge is often faulty. This is located in the AdBlue tank, of course, since it provides real-time information on the AdBlue level in your Peugeot or Citroen. The operation itself is simple: ideally, the gauge should be changed and the job's done, except that... the gauge cannot be detached. It's totally inseparable from the tank, and the operation involves replacing the entire tank to restore the car's normal operation.

Replacement at the manufacturer and cost

If you'd like to replace your tank directly at the manufacturer's to solve the AdBlue problem on your Peugeot / Citroen, then you'll generally need to allow several days for the vehicle to be immobilized and, above all, prepare around €1,300. This is the price to pay for the complete replacement of the tank and therefore the gauge, but it only solves the problem temporarily, as you can't be sure that the problem won't recur in the months to come.

    Price: €1300 approx.

Removal / Installation at the manufacturer's premises, average price.

Alternative solutions: Delete the system and eliminate error codes

Don't feel like paying €1300 to replace your part? We've got the solution.

There is a solution that we can offer you. Admittedly, it's not entirely legal, so it should only be used if you want to take your vehicle abroad to a country where the Euro 6 standard doesn't exist (e.g. Africa or the Middle East).

    • Odometer countdown cannot be deactivated
    • Permanent deactivation of dashboard indicator lights
    • More adblue consumption
    • Solution undetectable at technical inspection
    • No additional pollution when switching to CT

Definitive solution to AdBlue problems on BlueHdi engines

Setting up our solution: How do I go about it?

If you live in the Normandy region or near Rouen

    • Possibility of visiting our center by appointment
    • Intervention on your vehicle within 2 hours
    • Take care to check the number of kilometers separating you from us
    • Leave with a flawless vehicle
    • We intervene via the manufacturer's ODB connector

You are far from our center: no problem

If you are geographically distant from our center in Normandy, we can also intervene. The operation is simple: just dismantle your engine ECU (usually located next to the vehicle's battery), and send it to us by the postal service of your choice. In return, we'll send it to you by Colissimo or Chronopost, depending on your requirements.

    • Disassemble your engine ECU (see photo below). It consists of 2 pins, generally Bosch brand in 90% of cases. If you have a Delphi DCM 7.1 ECU, please contact us.
    • Once your ECU has been dismantled, you can send it to us and we'll work on it on the bench, i.e. by reading the Internet memory and modifying the parameters as if it were connected to the car.
    • We'll get your ECU back to you as soon as possible, so you don't have to do a thing - just reconnect it and everything's back to normal.
    • The operation is identical to bringing the vehicle to us: disassembly is simple and the operation fast. We ship your engine management unit back to you the same day we receive it, so your vehicle remains immobilized for a short time.

Bosch ECU fitted on BlueHdi vehicles.

Here's what a Bosch engine ECU looks like. Depending on the part number, they are more or less different, but the overall shape remains the same. In some cases, we'll need the Bosch part number starting with 0 2xx to confirm that the operation is possible.
