Renault Euro 6: Solutions to Adblue problems
T, C, K, D range: we have the right solutions. Motors from 6 to 13L.
NEW SOLUTION POSSIBLE! EGR FAP SCR STAGE 1
On all Renault Euro 6 models equipped with ACM 2.1 Continental and EMS 2.3 and 2.4 TRW ECUs, we now have new, reliable, stable and tested solutions. We offer you the possibility of eliminating EGR - FAP - ADBLUE - as well as improving vehicle performance.
The operation consists of working at the heart of the ECU, directly in the vehicle's original program, in both the engine management and post-processing units.
We need to have the truck under cover for this customized programming. Intervention time per vehicle is around 3 hours, and sometimes longer, depending on where the ACM is located (hard-to-reach places on 6x4 8x4 tippers, rigids, etc.). Tractor-trailers are easier to access.
The operations you'll read about below still apply (via OBD plug if possible, or via Limp Off box), but we now recommend opting for the solution we've just detailed, as it's also the only way to remove the EGR valve and increase power to lower fuel consumption.
We support Renault / Volvo T C K D Wide engines. The full range of 7.7L , 11L and 13L engines is supported. No matter whether your vehicle has the Retarder, or a very recent update version, our new development adapts to all possibilities.
Basic operation and problem parts
When AdBlue incidents occur on Renault Trucks vehicles, it becomes totally impossible to use it. Loss of over 80% of power, limited torque and a maximum speed of 20 km/h. We're going to suggest a number of solutions to counter these faults. First of all, let's take a look at the vehicles on which our solutions can be adapted.
Renault T, C, K and D vehicles are powered by Volvo engines, so our solutions are also suitable for Volvo trucks.
Operating principle of the AdBlue gas treatment system on Renault Trucks
7th injector
A specific diesel injector is used for thermal management of the diesel oxidation catalyst. It also ensures the efficiency of the diesel particulate filter and the smooth operation of the SCR system.
DOC catalyst
DOC produces the nitrogen dioxide (NO2) necessary for the diesel particulate filter particulate matter. At very temperatures, it also provides the heat required for regeneration.
FAP / DPF
The filter captures and stores particles until they are burnt off during regeneration. Regeneration takes place automatically, so the driver doesn't nothing to do.
SCR & ASC
In the mixing zone, the exhaust are sprayed with AdBlue. When they reach the catalytic converter, nitrogen oxides (NOX) are converted into neutral nitrogen and and water. The ASC catalytic converter is the last stage before the exhaust pipe. This is where any remaining ammonia (NH3) is eliminated.
Torque reduction, Speed limited to 20km/h

2 choices: Emulator or ECU programming
Programmable deactivation
Everything is done electronically. No additional components are connected to the vehicle. We proceed by completely reprogramming the AdBlue system via the engine ECU, connecting to the truck's diagnostic socket (OBD2).
REQUIREMENTS & PREREQUISITES
The box below is the engine management unit or ECU. We intervene in the ECU's memory to remove fault codes and permanently disable the system on your vehicle.
Emulation deactivation
The operation involves adding an AdBlue system virtualization module by connecting a box to the ACM ECU. The operation is simple, and the box can be sent anywhere in the world. Moulded box on original Volvo connector.
On vehicles fitted with the Voith Hydraulic retarder directly connected to the transmission, it is not possible to fit an emulator, otherwise you will see a number of ABS, lane departure and automatic emergency braking faults.

Here's our emulator, designed with the vehicle's original connector in mind, for easy installation! Unplug the original ACM harness and connect it to our module.
YOU DON'T WANT TO REMOVE YOUR ADBLUE DEVICE?
We understand that you don't want to inhibit your AdBlue device, and that's perfectly legitimate. Firstly, to protect the planet, and secondly, simply to comply with legislation. However, you also don't want to be stuck on the side of the road, in power reduction mode, with no solution other than to call the breakdown mechanic and end up with a high bill, both for the breakdown service itself and for the intervention on your AdBlue system at the dealership, which is often in the region of €3,000, and that's understandable.
On which models can you take action without eliminating Adblue?
We have detailed above all the models on which we can intervene definitively. We can also offer you an alternative, less costly solution via OBD, which will enable you to clear the faults yourself until the problem is resolved. Some of our customers have even used this method for many months before finally doing the necessary work on their truck.
Cause of 20km/h limit and fault P207F9A - Poor AdBlue quality
The truck's anti-pollution system is faulty, and will restrict the vehicle by implementing a program in the ECU to run the truck in degraded mode, totally limiting its traction force (torque), as well as its maximum speed to 20kmh, meaning that the vehicle is unusable.
The problem arises mainly when the Adblue device is faulty (problem with the Adblue injector or pump), which results in faulty Adblue metering, and thus in the engine management module detecting poor Adblue quality. It often appears that the particle filter is faulty and needs to be replaced, depending on the fault code and message. This can be confusing, as a message on your truck's dashboard indicating a fault in Adblue quality is in fact, in the various cases we've encountered, linked to an overloaded particulate filter or a fault present on it.
How do I get out of the 20km/h limit?
Immediately remove the defect to regain power! How do I do it?
Theoretically, only the dealer or a garage equipped with the manufacturer's diagnostic kit is able to clear faults. However, symptoms can reappear very quickly - a few hours after deletion, or even after driving a few kilometers, sometimes less than ten.
In response to increasing demand, we have developed a process for automatically eliminating the fault before the vehicle is started. Digiservices Normandie now makes it possible to eliminate power reduction on heavy goods vehicles. Our mini-case emulates part of the manufacturer's case when the technician initiates the procedure to clear the engine light, so that the truck regains its original power and engine torque. The process is very simple, and we've developed the system to suit all types of driver, from 18 to 65 (and beyond 🙂 ). The system is as simple as plugging into a 220V electrical outlet. No knowledge, hardware or diagnostics are required. Simply connect our system to the truck's OBD socket and our intelligent programmer will do the work for you, just as if you were at the dealership.
10s, Connect it's erased! Plug in, switch on, wait for automatic process, unplug, switch off and START!
This is a cost-saving alternative that avoids having to secure the truck (breakdown service, immobilization, waiting for a manufacturer's appointment...). A thorough diagnosis at the dealership (or with us in Normandy) is necessarily useful to pinpoint the exact origin of the problem, although the items listed above are the most common. On the other hand, driving tens of thousands of kilometers with a defective component on the truck is not an option. We know what to do in most cases, and have the right solutions for your fleet.
