Daf Euro 6 FAP fault problem

Do you own a DAF Euro 6 and have a problem with the adblue system? We have the right solution for you. There's a solution for every Adblue problem on a DAF CF 290. Definitive elimination linked to export or emergency repair.

    Why can't regeneration take place?

The latest generation of Euro 6 DAFs (between 2014 and 2017) are controlled by the DELPHI ETC3 engine control unit and the EAS3 exhaust aftertreatment management module. In our case, the vehicle is only used in a closed environment and is therefore not subject to validation by the MIN, nor is it registered. In this case, it is perfectly legal to proceed as explained below.

Vehicle speed deliberately limited to 50 km/h: In our case, the vehicles show a Daf Euro 6 DPFS fault. This is because the particulate filter is not being regenerated correctly, largely due to the fact that the vehicles do not reach a high enough speed, so the exhaust gases do not heat up enough to initiate the regeneration process. So we're going to rectify the problem by removing the vehicle's FAP and SCR systems, so that the truck doesn't have to run on restricted power every week.

Daf Euro 6 DPFS faultOn DAF trucks, regeneration can be activated using the valise, but when the particle filter displays a soot level that's too high (when it reaches Yellow), it's often impossible to restore the acceptable GREEN soot level. There are two solutions: either wait until the vehicle is in RED, then immobilize it and dismantle the DPF cartridge, cleaning it with a industrial process (not Karscher) as many do. Once the FAP has been cleaned or replaced by a new one, the level can then be reset, until the next problem occurs....

What can we do to solve FAP Daf Euro 6 defects?

In our case, our customer has chosen to completely do away with the DPF FAP system on the DAF Euro 6. As the truck is used in a closed environment, this poses no problem in terms of legislation. The best way to remedy any defect in a particulate filter is to remove it.

    How does the operation work?

We read the vehicle's complete engine map from the ETC3 engine management ECU and save it. This means we can access the original file at any time, should we need to restore the vehicle to factory configuration. We remove the FAP cartridge from the vehicle and then, using our DAF/PACCAR diagnostic tool, we reset the values so that the particle filter returns to the GREEN zone. Once this operation has been completed, we write the new modified program deactivating the FAP and EGR and the SCR system. DAF CF290s are equipped with PACCAR MX11 engines, so we can perform the operation on the entire MX11 and MX13 range from 2014 to 2017, from 290 to 510hp. The modified engine program not only removes the AdBlue system, but also instructs the engine ECU to stop regenerating, since the DPF is no longer present.

The final step is to check for faults and clear them with our diagnostic and programming tools, so that the check engine light goes out and the truck is still accepted at the MIN.
