Engine reprogramming on Scania R650 DC16118 engine at 730hp

80hp more and 300Nm more torque available from 900rpm

Engine reprogramming on Scania R650 to 730hp

Increase engine power to 730hp without risk

Do you own a Scania R650 and want to get the most out of it? With engine reprogramming, you can. The 16L engine fitted to Scania's 650hp V8s (DC16118) offers a significant increase in performance. Reprogramming the engine on a Scania R650 will give you extra torque at low revs, as well as more power when you need it most.

The DC16 118 engine powering the Scania 650 is the twin of the 580, except for the gearbox, which in most cases is the same as on the 730, i.e. the GRSO 925R. This means that engine torque can be largely absorbed, and engine power significantly increased, without compromising vehicle longevity.

Engine reprogramming on Scania R650 to 730hpReprogramming your R650's engine ECU will deliver improved acceleration from 900rpm. Increasing turbo pressure by a few tenths of a bar and shifting the torque limiters improves acceleration at low revs. Engine torque rises from 3300Nm to 3600Nm.

In the case of a free exhaust assembly

If you'd like to fit your R650 with a free exhaust system, you'll need to deactivate the SCR (Adblue) and FAP (Particulate Filter) systems, if you don't want to get an error on the instrument panel concerning NOx control. This procedure is not legal if you're driving on open roads in Europe, due to Euro 6 legislation and standards. However, the procedure is not detectable at the roadworthiness test, so it's virtually impossible for you to fail. Removing the SCR device not only eliminates the fault codes on the dashboard, but also stops adblue injection and FAP regeneration.

    Speed sensor calibration

Calibration of the speed sensor allows you to obtain a few extra km/h or, on the contrary, to remove some, depending on your needs. We hope our article has helped you in your search.
