    Solving a particulate filter problem on a Tecnoma Deutz engine

    Following a fault in the exhaust emission system, and more specifically in the particulate filter, this sprayer could only be driven at a very low maximum speed. SPN code 524022 causes the vehicle to go into degraded mode. This fault code indicates that the DPF is not being regenerated correctly, and manual regeneration is now required. This is what our customer has done, except that the soot level in the particulate filter is too high, so regeneration is refused by the manufacturer's diagnostic tool.

    Causes of particulate filter problems at Tecnoma

    The "Active error" message DPF Réduct. Puissance Phase 2, Instruct. Speciale is displayed when the particulate filter is faulty. There are several possible causes of a particulate filter (DPF) regeneration problem on a vehicle equipped with this type of system. Here are a few examples:

    1. Excessive particle build-up in the DPF: If the DPF is clogged with excessive particle build-up, this can prevent filter regeneration and lead to a fault condition.
    2. Problem with the regeneration system: If the FAP regeneration system is not working properly, this may prevent filter regeneration and lead to a fault.
    3. Mechanical problem: A mechanical problem, such as a malfunctioning engine or fuel injection system, can lead to a problem with DPF regeneration.

    The Bosch EDC17CV52 engine ECU can manage the vehicle's emission control system, including the particulate filter (DPF). The DPF is an exhaust gas treatment device that traps soot particles and other contaminants produced by the engine. The engine ECU manages the regeneration of the DPF, i.e. the process of cleaning the filter by burning off accumulated particles. Reprogramming the engine ECU with our own pollution control program will stop the errors in memory once and for all. In fact, our program includes different management of the DPF and adblue than that of the manufacturer. What's more, we deactivate the Limp mode (severity mode relating to the DPFS and emissions) so that the vehicle no longer puts itself in a safe mode. With the problem definitively solved, the vehicle regains its full power and engine torque. The messages previously displayed on the dashboard disappear.
