Problem FAP on Gipo crusher
Solving a gas post-treatment fault on a Gipo CAT engine crusher is one of the services we offer our customers. This type of crusher is equipped with a Caterpillar engine meeting Tier 4F emissions standards. It has Adblue and FAP. Our intervention consists of reprogramming the entire pollution control system.
FAP regeneration problem
As can be seen in the photo below, a problem in the gas post-treatment system, resulting in fault 5591-09 (abnormal soot content, and faulty management of the FAP post-treatment system), has put the machine into a degraded mode, limiting its engine torque and power. It is therefore impossible to work with the crusher.
Changing the ARD head is supposed to solve this type of problem. However, it has been changed several times, but the problem persists. The emissions aftertreatment system is designed to treat engine exhaust gases to reduce levels of pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulates, hydrocarbons and other harmful compounds. The ARD head is part of this system and is generally responsible for regenerating the diesel particulate filter (DPF), removing particles trapped in it.
The ultimate solution: deactivate post-processing modules
Programming the engine management module will avoid the Adblue FAP problem on Gipo crushers. Our intervention consists in flashing a new version of the engine operating software. The data programmed in this way will restore the machine's full efficiency. The degraded mode is definitively eliminated, and rated power is restored.
After solving the adblue FAP fault on Gipo crusher?
Once the problem has been solved electronically, we can disconnect the ARD connector and, if necessary, disconnect the post-processing peripherals.
