Troubleshooting Fendt 826 Vario - Deutz TCD 6.1 Tier 4F engine

Fendt 826 problem: What to do?

Fendt 826 Vario tractors are equipped with Deutz TCD6.1 engines. In the Fendt tractor, the Deutz TCD 6.1 engine develops 265 hp and is managed by a Bosch EDC17CV52 engine management module. Its rated speed is 2100 rpm and its maximum torque is 1450 rpm, enabling it to produce a force of 1150 Nm. However, it is not uncommon for faults to occur in the gas aftertreatment system. We explain.

    Message 01.1.F1: EDC power reduction

A number of faults caused by a particulate filter problem are displayed on the instrument panel, including one with code 01.1.F1. This message indicates engine restriction, i.e. limited performance. The clogged particulate filter on this vehicle no longer allows optimum use.

FAP and Adblue troubleshooting on Fendt 826 Vario

The particulate filter (DPF) is a device used to capture soot and dirt particles produced by the diesel engine to reduce exhaust emissions. If the DPF is clogged or damaged, this can affect engine performance and lead to the error message "01.1.F1 - EDC power reduction".

FAP faults can be eliminated by programming the ECU (Electronic Control Unit), i.e. by modifying the software that controls the vehicle's various systems. This can be done using a specialized diagnostic tool which can read and modify ECU parameters.

The SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system is often used in conjunction with the FAP (particulate filter) system to reduce exhaust emissions in diesel engines.

The SCR system uses a catalyst and a reducing agent (usually urea) to convert sulfur dioxide (SO2) and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions into water and carbon dioxide (CO2). The FAP system, on the other hand, captures soot and dirt particles produced by the diesel engine to reduce exhaust emissions.

By combining these two technologies, it is possible to significantly reduce exhaust emissions from diesel engines and meet emissions regulations. However, it is important to note that SCR and FAP are two separate systems requiring separate maintenance and management. Removal is therefore achieved by fully programming both the FAP and ADBLUE components, permanently and faultlessly on the dashboard.

    EDC power reduction

Following programming via our system, you can permanently disconnect the NOx sensors and adblue pump electrically. No faults will be present on the dashboard, and the vehicle will also be out of performance restriction for all exhaust and emission control.
