Troubleshooting Fenwick H60 Evo - Deutz FAP & NOx engine

Solving an Adblue problem on a Fenwick H60 Deutz engine

We're going to explain how to remove an adblue problem on a Fenwick H60 forklift equipped with a Deutz TCD4.1 Tier 4 engine and an EDC17CV5x control box.

Identify fault codes related to the problem

In our example, the vehicle has lost all power, making it impossible to lift heavy loads. The NOx sensors have been changed several times, but the problem persists and the owner is at a loss. So he turned to us with the aim of completely inhibiting the system and getting rid of his adblue problem on his Fenwick H60 for good.

Passing through the suitcase will first enable us to identify the faults responsible for errors on the dashboard, as well as those that lead to torque and engine power restrictions.

Fault codes Problem on Fenwick H60

fault 1535 indicates a problem with a NOx sensor, which has been changed several times. On the other hand, faults 1891 (level 1 power restriction), 1892 and 2007 (level 2 power restriction) make it virtually impossible to use the vehicle. It's time to solve this Fenwick adblue problem.

Definitive elimination of engine ECU faults

Our job is to restore the power availability of this forklift. Deutz TCD4.1 engines fitted with Bosch EDC17CV52 ECUs manage the particulate filter and the EGR valve. First, we reset the soot and ash values stored in memory.

Definitive suppression of adblue injection and particulate filter regeneration takes place directly in the engine ECU. To do this, we need to read the data, modify it and then write it back to the engine management module.

    Reprogramming EDC17CV52

Once the data has been set up, we can remount the ECUs on the vehicle. Data emulation enables us to display adblue levels at 100% too. The LIMP mode (power restriction) is definitively removed (concerning emissions), but not the engine alerts.

Adblue level emulation on Fenwick Deutz engine, as you can see, there are no more engine alerts!

After testing the forklift we also inspect the soot and ash values in the FAP. Here we can see that they are not incrementing. The particulate filter cartridge therefore needs to be removed. The adblue pump can also be disconnected.
