AdBlue Premium 280 DXi engine limitation problem

We have corrected an adblue problem on a Renault Premium 280 DXi. In fact, limiting the engine did not allow the truck to run properly. Torque and engine power were totally reduced, and the vehicle was climbing hills at 30km/h. This may be due to one or more faults in the AdBlue system.

The most common culprits are a clogged catalytic converter, a faulty adblue pump, the dipstick, the injector or the NOx sensors. Occasionally, the adblue wiring harness is cut, a problem we've encountered 2 or 3 times.

Adblue system emulation on Premium 280 DXi

In many cases, older vehicles will be exported to African countries where the use of AdBlue is non-existent. In order to be able to drive the truck without AdBlue, we opt for an AdBlue virtualization system. We install a box on the vehicle's CAN network which takes over management of the SCR system and solves all AdBlue Premium 280 DXi problems, even for other engines.

Upstream programming of the emulation box

We pre-program the amount of adblue simulated on the vehicle's dashboard. According to 9 levels, we can set the needle from 1 quarter to full. Once the box is installed, the AdBlue gauge is visible again, and the engine light, exhaust gas warning light and engine power limit are raised.
