Removal of Adblue on Scania R520 V8 We intervened on this export vehicle to remove the Adblue anti-pollution device so as not to enter power and torque reduction mode when the vehicle is driven abroad. The R520 V8 DC16 101 block: A Euro 6 bonus block!
First of all, the Streamline R520 V8 versions equipped with the DC16 101 block have a high reprogramming potential. Almost all the parts are taken from the DC16 102 block fitted to the R580 V8. All in all, it's very easy to upgrade it to 580, then reprogram it as an R580 at +/- 640/650hp. The gearbox fitted is identical to the 580, i.e. GRSO 905R, injectors, turbo, HP pump, the K432 26 clutch is also identical and fitted to the 580 and 520 V8. Engine management is controlled by the EMS S8 control unit, which also controls the operation of the FAP, Adblue and EGR systems on this model. So you can safely upgrade your R520 DC16 101 to a modified R580 DC16 102. The same principle applies to the Euro 5 versions of the R560 and R620, both of which are upgraded to 690/700hp.
FAP, EGR and SCR (Adblue)
Adblue suppression on Scania R580 V8 consists in electronically deactivating the anti-pollution device (FAP EGR SCR) so that the vehicle can be driven without torque and power limitation and without being restricted to 20km/h in the worst case. This operation is carried out using our own software and Scania Sweden's in-house development tools. Once this operation has been completed, the EGR valve can be disconnected, and the particulate filter removed (simply dismantle the 2 FAP cartridges). Adblue consumption will be zero!
