Solving an Adblue problem on a CAT 988K loader

CAT C18 ACERT engine in power failure with SCR system fault code present

To solve an Adblue problem on a CAT 988K loader, we act directly via the manufacturer's diagnostic socket. The 988K is equipped with the C18 ACERT 18.1L, 588 hp engine. This engine is equipped with the EGR valve, the FAP and the Adblue system, and has a turbocharger and aftercooler (TA) or a turbocharger and aftercooler as standard (TTA). The fault codes on the on-board computer indicate a failure of the Nox sensors and the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) injector pump.

How to solve the SCR problem on the 988K loader?

There are several possible solutions, the first of which is to replace the sensors and pump, at a cost of around €4,000 excluding labour, with no guarantee that the problem will be solved once and for all. The other solution is to completely inhibit the anti-pollution system. This involves a complete reprogramming of the engine ECU to electronically neutralize the components. They can then be completely disconnected at your convenience.

    Dashboard faults and Adblue problems

As you can see below, there are no more faults on the dashboard.
    - Torque and power limits deactivated
    - No DTC indicator on the dash
    - No need to refill the adblue tank (zero consumption)
    - No more FAP regeneration (FAP can be emptied)
    - EGR valve condensation possible
    - All SCR-related sensors can be disconnected

We use our own software as well as proprietary CAT software, which gives us access to all machine values, as well as the ability to edit numerous parameters and control/deactivate them.
LIMP Mode operation (creep mode), which reduces travel speed, motor torque and power, is also deactivated, enabling stable, long-term resumption of work without ever having to be interrupted by this type of failure.

Removing adblue from 988K loaders: What years?

We can work on all 988Ks and also all CAT loaders to Tier IV Final and Tier 5 standards, most of which are equipped with Adem 4, Adem 5 or Adem 6 ECUs.
